Otis

Just read An Otis ChristImagemas by Loren Long.  The kids clapped when we were finished.  This is a great book!  I love my job!  A shout out to Pixie Hollow bookstore in High River for bringing it in.  We love it!

Retired

Signed out 39 times, over due 30 times (because they just couldn’t part with it) renewed 15 times (same as above) repaired multiple times, it was sadly time to retire this faithful soldier. You have served well!  May another, just as faithful, take your place!

Beauty

Super beautiful moment yesterday when one of my young students came in, clutching our copy of “Great Illustrated Classics – Black Beauty” and she whispered breathlessly (I’m not kidding….she really did! 🙂 “Mrs. Jantzen…..that was a great book”. I said…”honey….I know….and it’s okay to just take a moment now and just revel in that and enjoy that wonderful feeling of just being enveloped in a wonderful tale…..and to also feel sad in a way that it’s going to take a bit to find another story perhaps that you will love so well” Love it…..love those moments. Classics are classics for a reason…..read one…even an adapted version…if that’s the right fit for you:)….you won’t be sorry

We are the champions, my friends

ImageStraws and connectors turned a group Grade two boys into champions yesterday in the Cayley School Learning Commons (Library).  It happened when they successfully built a tower that went to the ceiling and spontaneously burst into that famous Queen song.  Love it.  Love my job!  They ARE the champions!

A Good Gift

A good gift

This Christmas……a really good gift….a really lasting gift would be a good book (and there are lots and lots and lots to choose from!). This Christmas, please do consider including one under the tree for each of your loved ones.
